Disable the second nic on the server. After you do that go in to
Netwpork setting/ Tools/Advanced or advanced settings. Make sure
binding order after disabled has the internal nic at the top. I also
label my nics internal and external as I use two nics in my servers.
Do you run the Internet Connection Wizard from the SBS Management
Console after you disabled the unused second nic?
Workstation should point to the SBS nic and only the SBS nic for DNS
resolution. You should but do nota have to use dhcp from the server.
DHCP should be disabled on the router or gateway.

ipconfig/all from server and workstation.
Did you join the workstations to the new domain? If you installed the
server os with the same name and same domain name it is still a new
domain.

if you have a full Acronis image why don't you simply restore it?

the only problem with doing that when i tryed it would not let me

SBS 2003? Standard Windows with Standard Exchange? Or something
else.
In general, Windows and/or SBS with exchange can be restored from
backup
by installing the base OS, applying the Windows (only) service pack
that
was last applied to your crashed server, and restoring from backup.

I had to reformat one of my servers and i have 2 backups a complete
image
with acronis and a nt backup of the exchange database and exchange
settings.
now i formatted the system and i can not restore the data it will not
restore
with ntbackup,so i demounted my exchange store, and just replace the
New os
database with my old one with data. Now when i go to reconnect the
mailboxes
to the users not a single one will work. they all say cannot find
user.
please help. also when opening up my outlook 2002 on my clients comps
exchange takes 3 times before it will connect.
