Hi Jim,
Thanks for the reply. I'll run the install.ins per the article on the
workstation next week. The Doctor's office is closed for the holidays and
the cpu's are off until then. Thank you for all your help.

Here is the section from a non-ISA SBS 2003

Hi Jim,See what SBS support is working on
The install.ins that I opened was in the following directory:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows Small Business
Server\ClientSetup\Clients\Setup
I missed the command/apps you suggested I run on the workstation, could you
repeat the command? Thanks ...
I remember when Proxy Server was a stand alone (SBS 2000 or SBS NT 4.0 I
think), so, now it is part of ISA, got it. Thanks ...
The issue occurs when we run Users icon/app in the Control Panel of the
workstation and add a Domain user. The new users configuration for Internet
Options/Connection/Lan Setting/Use a proxy ... check box is checked and the
info points to SBS01 and port 8080. Could it be something associated with the
User Template?

Proxy/ISA has nothign to do with IIS.
Have you opened the correct file on the server inthe clientapps area?
Have you run the command I posted on the workstation?

We installed IIS, but I don't believe we installed ISA. It is my
understanding that Proxy Server is part of IIS.
In any event, the issue occurs when we add a new user on a client computer.
Specifically, in the Control Panel of the workstation, we run Users icon/app.
The new users configuration for Internet Options/Connection/Lan Setting/Use
a proxy ... check box is checked and the info points to SBS01 and port 8080.
I would guess there's something in the file that supplements the User
Template on the server, but I'm not knowledgable about what works with the
Template files. Are you aware of a file that works with the Add a user to a
workstation?

When you say proxy server, are we talking ISA 2000 or 2004?

Hi Jim,
Thanks for the reply. I found the install.ins and opened it with wordpad.
It does have a section [Proxy]. However, most of the settings are a null
(see below). Is there another config file that executes when a new user
first logs in? This problem seems to be associated with a new user.
[Proxy]
HTTP_Proxy_Server=
FTP_Proxy_Server=
Gopher_Proxy_Server=
Secure_Proxy_Server=
Socks_Proxy_Server=
Use_Same_Proxy=0
Proxy_Enable=0
Proxy_Override=
AutoDetect=0
