Re: Remote Web Workplace Will not Allow Users to Logon

Was there any progress on this thread?

I am having the identical problem of being able to connect to the client PC's through Remote Web Workplace, but not being able to log in to the PC's with the correct credentials. I recieve the "Username or Password is incorrect" error.

I have also tried the truncated domain name on login and so forth. Our domain name is over 15 characters long. Unfortunatly this is pretty much the only thread I have found online that describes the exact same problem we are expieriancing.

I have looked at Microsoft KB 892078, but this describes a slightly different issue involving a password that is waiting to be reset. These users and passwords have are not waiting to be reset.

Any thoughts?

I forgot to mention to be sure that ports 443 and 4125 are port forwarded to the server and IF using ISA that the rules are enabled

Connecting with https has the same results.

How do I rerun the CEICW? I don't see an option to do this in Server
Mangement. Thanks

RWW should not require the Domain name when logging on and the knowledge
base you quote only applies to password changes and using OWA to workaround.
I would suggest you try https//ipaddress/remote and see if you can connect
that way as another workaround. Also try rerunning CEICW. Another ck is if
the WS's are XP SP3 be sure that Tools Manage addons has Activex RDP client
enabled

When users who are members of the Remote Web Workplace Users group try to
logon to RWW they get the following message:

The user name or password is incorrect. Verify that CAPS LOCK is not on,
and
then retype the current user name and password. If you receive this
message
again, contact your system administrator to ensure that you have the
correct
permissions to use the Remote Web Workplace.

The users are members of the correct groups and the passwords are correct.
According to the Microsoft KB, the problem is that the NetBios name of the
domain is different than the full domain name. The domain name is longer
than
15 characters so the NetBios name is truncated. Microsoft's KB mentions
that
this is the issue, but it doesn't say how to solve. Can anyone help??
You installed IE8 on the workstation?
