Re: SBS 2003 new users unable to get external email bouncing with NDR

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Is there an outside mail host involved here? In other words, is your Exchange (SBS) server *the* host for the email domain, or is there another mail server involved here - aka "I use the pop3 connector".

Run a mail test (or domain test) from http://www.dnsreport.com and ensure the response is what you expect it should be.

Hey Gang,

I need help with an SBS 2003 server, Exch SP2, SBSSP1, 2003 SP2 all applied.
Since last week I have not been able to get a newly created user in AD to
get external email. The NDR I am getting is this (I changed the domain name
in this paste )-
snip -
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject: test
Sent: 11/13/2008 5:21 PM

The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:

tsmith@xxxxxxxxxx on 11/13/2008 5:21 PM
The e-mail system was unable to deliver the message, but did not
report a specific reason. Check the address and try again. If it still
fails, contact your system administrator.
< mx09.roch.ny.frontiernet.net #5.0.0 smtp; 5.1.0 - Unknown
address error 550-'no such address here' (delivery attempts: 0)>
-
snip

All new users seem to be getting this, I only had one new user but i created
another and same thing is happening. All other users are getting external
email fine. Checked in AD properties for the delivery restrictions and it is
all setup correctly to receive email from EVERYONE for both new users.

Has anyone seen this or can anyone help me with this issue?

Thanks so much gang

Ted
