As the late great Harry Caray would say, "Holy Cow".
Guy (and Gals).....tons of good information and good advice.
One of the first things that I am going to do is to contact the existing
software company (as I mentioned in the original post) to see if they have
any sort of solution for this. This would be - probably - the most ideal
solution. Now, that ain't gonna work until the new server is in place....
If the software company does not offer this solution (the client is a couple
versions behind....so we will see what that might mean) then we are going to
have to come up with something.
Everyone, thanks for all the great info.
Now, keep it coming!

Good morning!
Hey, guys! I know that this is way off topic, but I thought that I might
try in here as a possible resource.
We have a new client (running SBS2003....so not entirely off base) that is
a Dermatology office. Right now the fine doctor has about 100 folders
(about 45GB) on her desktop (right, that is not a typo) and they have a
heck of a time finding the pictures of the patients. Now, clearly this is
an ideal situation for storing things on the server....well, problem is
that the server (which is going to be replaced soon) is 6 years old and
has two 36GB SCSI HDDs (no raid...just two individual HDDs).
I am going to contact the Practice Software company (Medisoft from
McKesson Provider Technologies) to see if they can recommend some sort of
"picture manamgement" application.
But, does anyone in here know about any "image management" software. They
simply need to be able to find a patient's pictures either by name alone
or by name and date.
Thanks!
Cary
