No problem. I get a lot of help here too, so I am happy to provide some when
needed.
BTW, What is your HP model, and to what pack version have you upgraded?

I was figuring I was in for several nights of extreme fun, now I need to
get
HP to resolve my extremely long boot times, but at least my domain is
happy
again.

I really appreciate your help with this.

Have a great night.

No I tried the KDC error fix first, and after I tested the other
problems
I
was having and they are all fine. Everything is replicating correctly
and
users can access resources accross the VPN tunnel again.

I'll keep an eye on the servers for another day or two to make sure
everything is working correctly.

Thanks for the suggestions!

You did not have to demote / remove?

KB288167 was just what I needed, seems to have resolved my
replication
and
access issues. I'm going to watch this server for a while tonight
before I
start drinking!

And, also, add a local administrator account to the demoted bdc,
and
make
a
note of the password, jus tin case.
After you are done with the demotion, make sure the BDC is removed
from
the
domain BEFORE you reboot your SBS.

Here is where to look:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/288167

If no luck resolving, start dcpromo /forceremoval.
Then make sure you run NTDSUTIL metadata cleanup.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc736378.aspx
After you are done, check with adsiutil as I suggested before.
Do not rush promoting again. if possible, reboot your SBS and
make
sure
your SYSVOL is properly shared, and you get no errors.
I will follow-up in 30 minutes.

Amnon,
So far DCPromo fails saying the "Target principal name is
incorrect",
I'm
guessing that the force removal option is now required. I'll
wait a
bit
for
your reply before proceeding. The target string looks correct to
me,
but
who
knows what evil lurks beneath the surface....:)

I had some problems this morning patching my HP server with HP
support
pack
8.11A. After the updates my server took an extremely long
time
to
POST
and
boot, the HP "Genius" had me reset the NVRAM and the system
finally
booted
with a date of 6/25/2008 and 12:00 am, I am still having
trouble
with
the
long boot/initialization times, but that is for HP to deal
with.
I
am
running
SBS 2003 standard SP1.

I am seeing event IDs 1308, 1566, 1311, 1865. All began with
error
messages
with the time stamp of 6/25/2008..... Anybody have any
suggestions
on
how
to
resolve the errors? I tried manually resyncing the DCs but
they
will
not.

I am pretty sure this date issue messed up all the tokens,
but I
do
not
know
how to fix them....

HELP!!!
