I am in cantact with Sophos support. Sofar they are clueless other then
reinstalling Puremessage. Done that twice.
I now changed the settings of the Sophos Sqlserver and Agent services to
automatically restart after an unexpected stop. Seems to work.
Can you check your Windows update history to see if Windows Update also
made
you installl SQL server 2000 SP4?

(failed, but see above)
Can't find any SP4 install itself, it may have been manually done after
Sophos was installed as a result of MSBSA or something.
I do remember the SQL S 2005 SP2 (or update to do with that) and SP4 (or
update to do with that) - coming up about the same time, and that the
install took quite a long time (it seemed like it stopped) - it did in
fact all complete OK in the end.
