Event ID 1104 (and others)

Hi There,
I have a Win2k3 Server that will run for anywhere between 5 minutes and a
week with no problems, then starts to have multiple errors appear in the
event viewer.
The events will change a bit from time to time but seem to *always* include
the following to start it off:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Userenv
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1104
Date: 10/6/2008
Time: 12:20:40 PM
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Computer: ONSITE-SERVER
Description:
Windows cannot perform filter check for Group Policy object
CN={C52EF857-EB0D-40C4-8348-9E1E9C9A1620},CN=Policies,CN=System,DC=onsite,DC=local.
The associated filter cannot be found. This Group Policy Object will be
skipped.
If not this exact one then something very similar telling me that the group
policy filter could not be applied etc.
To fix this I have found that I can do the following:
At command prompt: net stop winmgmt
delete C:\Windows\System32\wbem\repository
then reboot
after reboot, at command prompt:
winmgmt /clearadap
winmgmt /kill
winmgmt /unregserver
winmgmt /regserver
winmgmt /resyncperf
This will fix it every time but only temporarily. I can not figure out what
is causing the errors but they keep returning. When they start there will be
an event id every 30 seconds or so. Mostly group policy errors (could not
apply filter, could not query, etc.). This is a very basic setup, I have
done virtually nothing to customize, no group policy edit whatsoever.
I have tried an in-place upgrade, re-installing service pack 2, etc..
nothing seems to help.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance!
Kelly
