Hello Joe,
It is always our first choice to run SBS server BPA tool or Exchange server
BPA tool to check the current version and for new available updates. Since
the system registry may be messed up, it is fine to just install SP2 for
your Exchange server.
After you have successfully applyed SP2, please go to the Exchange System
Management console, then under "Servers" item, right click your Exchange
server and select Properties, on the General tab, you can see it's version
clearly there whether is it "Service Pack 2" or not.
At the same time, I recommend you run the Exchange Best Practices Analyzer
v2.8 to detect and analyze you Exchange organization.
