Hi All
Question on Exchange 2003 We has take over by another company I would like to add about 40 new email address of the company we have take over to the public address book can this be done?
Open "Active Directory Users and Computers". Whilst you don't need to I'd suggest creating a new organisational unit for the company you've taken over, then inside that create one new contact for each user in the other company. That should be it.
Any contacts won't normally be available to users until the following day because the address book is rebuilt over night (and typically not pulled down by outlook until someone starts it up). If you can't wait that long and want to check that the contacts you've added are there then run up "Exchange System Manager", expand "Recipients" then "Offline Address Lists", right click "Default offline address list" (or each if you have more than one) and select "Rebuild". Despite the warning message rebuilding the address list seems to be quite quick. In Outlook you can then pull down the new address book using Tools > Send/Receive > Download Address Book ...
Hope this helps.
