SBS 2003 POP3 connector

I am trying to get to grips with Exchange and have setup my SbS 2003 to use
the pop3 connector to send and receive email. After finding I was able to
send and receive some email but not others,it appeared that my sender address
is being shown as xxx.local rather than xxx.com. I understand that to mean
some servers
will bounce mail back on the basis of a reverse lookup on the domain name
failing.
I have since added my xxx.com domain to both the email adresses under the
uers AD profile and as the default entry under the recipient policy. I
appear to nowbe able to send to any email adress and show a correct xxx.com
address but seem to be no longer capable of receiving mail.
Can anybody give me a clue a to what i need to change? I am sure it is
something basicthat I have missed but it is driving me nuts
Grateful for ny assistance - Exchange for Dummies is about to be thrown out
the window!
