This turned out to be an amazingly simple misunderstanding on my part. I was specifying "remote.domainname.com/exchange" for the server. I also tried "remote.domainname.com/oma". The correct way to specify the server as "remote.domainname.com" with nothing after it. I was thrown off track because if I browse to "https://remote.domainname.com" I get a 403 forbidden error. Hope this helps someone else struggling with this.

"Kerry Brown" <kerry@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx*a*m> wrote in message news:%23vMryQcEJHA.3488@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxI've been trying unsuccessfully to connect two different iPhone 3g's to two different SBS networks. The first is SBS 2003 Standard with SP2. The second is SBS 2003 R2 Premium with SP2 and ISA 2004. Both of them have SP2 for Exchange 2003 installed. Both have no issues with SBSBPA. Both are using self signed certificates. I don't have any Windows Mobile devices to test but I can browse to https://remote.domain.com/exchange and https://remote.domain.com/oma on both servers. When configuring the iPhones everything works until the very end when I get an Account verification failed error. During the setup I am prompted to accept the self signed cert which appears to work. Do I need to purchase a certificate rather than use the self signed one? I have read that some permissions may need to be changed in IIS. Is this the fix and what permissions need to be changed?
I'm still trying to resolve this. The wireless carrier (Rogers) says I have to disable SSL which I'm not willing to do. I have tried the Mobile 6.1 emulator on several computers but cannot get it to connect to the Internet for testing. Does anyone have any more ideas?
Thanks,
