Merv, thanks for your reply.
The default SMTP address is already set to jsmith@xxxxxxxxxx, which is
what
I want/need it to be. The issue is the logon name, unless you are
suggesting
that the default SMTP address effects the logon name? My understanding is
that is an Exchange setting that effects outbound email only?

If I understand your question.... In the User's account Properties |
Addresses, what happens if you click on joe.smith@xxxxxxxxxx and make it
the
primary SMTP email address and then untick "Automatically update email
addresses based on recipient policy".
You'd need to do this manually for each current user and for all new
users.

SBS 2003
User Name: Joe.Smith
Domain Name: domain.local
Email Domain: domain.com
Email Address: jsmith@xxxxxxxxxx
A miscommunication on desired user names and email addresses resulted
in a
mismatch between user name & email address formats, joe.smith vs
jsmith.
I
would like to allow user to login to OWA with their email address. I
have
added an additional UPN, domain.com, however this doesn't resolve the
mismatch between the user name and the email "name" to the left of @.
For
example, joe.smith@xxxxxxxxxx is the login with the additional UPN,
however
the email address remains jsmith@xxxxxxxxxxx
I believe I can change the user logon name and not effect profiles,
however
it would be nice if I could add an additional user logon name to each
user
so
that the users would not notice any change.
Thanks.
