Miles,
I was trying to manully rebuild my perf counters:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;300956
Everything went swimmingly until I have to reload my perf drivers via:
"lodctr inifile"
I ended up getting this error:
C:\WINDOWS\system32>lodctr axperf.ini
Error encountered while updateing text in registry. Status: 0
Any thoughts on where I went wrong on this process of is this natural? Ive
tried on about 5 .ini files and I get the same result every time.
My final step is to Reboot and the rebuild my counters " lodctr /R " but I
dont want to attempt this without knowing if the last step is correct or not.
I guess is good to note that I ran Exctrlst.exe and it seemed as though all
of my exchange counters were working just fine and LastCounter value 1846 and
LastHelp value 1847 were also present which I changed earlier.
Any Help are appreciated,
Noncentz

Hello Noncentz,
Sorry about the wrong post.
According to your description, I understand that:
You receive the Event 40 42 47 that indicates WMI ADAP was unable to
retrieve/create the Exchange Server performance counters when you try to
force the transfer of all the performance libraries
If I have misunderstood the problem, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Suggestions:
==================
The error message WBEM_E_FAILED (0x80041001) is a general error that
indicates the call failed. Please make sure that on the SBS server you have
the latest service pack installed.

According to the following error, it seems that the Performance Counter is
corrupt.
WMI ADAP was unable to create object
Win32_PerfRawData_DAVEX_ExchangeServerHTTPExtensions for Performance
Library DAVEX because no value was found for property index 10014 in the

From error code 0x80041009, which means WBEM_E_NOT_AVAILABLE, so I suggest
that we do the following to rebuild the WMI repository:
To Rebuild the WMI repository:
1. Click Start -> Run, type SERVICES.MSC and click OK.
2. In the right panel, locate and then right-click Windows Management
Instrumentation.
3. On the "General" tab, click the Stop button.
7. Start Windows Explorer, and then locate the
%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem\Repository folder.
8. Delete all of the files in the %SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem\Repository
folder.
9. Restart the computer. The files that were deleted are re-created when
the computer restarts. NOTE: The Windows Management Instrumentation service
starts automatically when you restart the computer.
