Agree, Frank should be filtering. And he can certainly change the
email address. But personally, I'd prefer adding a new email address,
making it the default, and leaving the old one in place for a while.
Either help her create a rule to dump all mail to that address to an
Outlook folder, or create a new user/mailbox and assign the old
address to that user. This allows her to go through and pull out any
important stuff that went to the old address periodically, if she
wants.
Yep. Agreed. I think changing the email address because of spam should be a
*very* last resort tactic anyway.

Hi all,
I got a call from a prospective client about replacing her default
SMTP email address name with a new one and leaving the logon name
the same. The domain name will not change just her name in Exchange.
She stated that she is getting tons of spam. I explained about IMF
and other spam filtering options but she was pretty set on the email
name change. Any ideas on how to do this?
You can give her a different e-mail address in her ADUC properties,
remove the old one, and untick the option to update via recipient
policy. You should *also* implement filtering. :)
