I have Windows Small Business Server 2003 Premium R2 on one PC on which I
have installed SQL Server 2008 as well. I then installed MOSS 2007 on a
Windows Server 2008 VM hosted on Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1 running on Vista
Ultimate 64-bit. These machines are all part of my SBS AD domain, and belong
to the same IP subnet. I have a shared folder on the SBS PC that all three
machines can see.
My problem is that I can't logon to the MOSS 2007 Central Admin website. I
installed MOSS 2007 by specifying SQL Server 2008 for the configuration
database and there must be something wrong with that since it's not working.
I used to run SQL Server 2005 on the SBS PC and everything just worked - MOSS
2007 et. al.
One other thing to note is that I'm using Kerberos authentication with MOSS
2007. Other than that, when I look at the functional level of my SBS AD
domain, it says Windows Server 2000, although SBS is built on Windows Server
2003. There is the option to raise the functional level to Windows Server
2003 - and should I be doing that?
And are there any special considerations to running MOSS 2007 using SQL
Server 2008 as the backend, since like I've mentioned above, everything just
worked when I was using SQL Server 2005.
