Hi,

Is it possible the file has been corrupted, or that the security settings
are preventing its use?

Try copying it to the local machine, and right click , properties, unblock?

Is there a firewall on the client?

Regards,

Matt

Testing out RC1, I'm trying to use the client connect application to
add a workstation to the newly setup sbs2008 domain.  Using WinXP
SP3.  Whether I run the function fromhttp://connect/or from a
portable media / copied folder, launcher.exe gives me the following:

"an error occured while downloading the connect computer application.
please run this application again".

Well, i have with no luck.  Nothing in the event viewer on either the
server or workstation and I cant tell if there are any other places
logfiles might be locted for this operation.  It just leaves me
without any direction on where to go next.

Anyone have any thoughts?- Hide quoted text -

Thanks for the reply Matt. I'm not sure what special security
settings could exist. I am trying to do this with as vanilla a setup
as possible. I have turned off all firewall services on both the
server as well as the workstation. I have copied launcher.exe and
helper files to the workstation's desktop with the same results.
Permissions on the copied files look to be fine.
