sbs2008 RC1 connect computer / launcher.exe error

Testing out RC1, I'm trying to use the client connect application to
add a workstation to the newly setup sbs2008 domain. Using WinXP
SP3. Whether I run the function from http://connect/ or from a
portable media / copied folder, launcher.exe gives me the following:

"an error occured while downloading the connect computer application.
please run this application again".

Well, i have with no luck. Nothing in the event viewer on either the
server or workstation and I cant tell if there are any other places
logfiles might be locted for this operation. It just leaves me
without any direction on where to go next.

Anyone have any thoughts?
