Re: Exchange/Internet disconnecting

Larry Thanks for for your help. Problem solved. What happed was that the old
server that I replaced had a HP5Si printer with a 3com Print server using the
same IP address as the problem workstation, I temporarly gave the
workstation a fixed IP address until I change the print server, because
other's are printing to the printer.

Hi Rodney:

After a fresh install one would not think the problem would continue. So
what is unique about this computer or its OS? Obviously we can't tell from
here so we need you to give us more clues.

Let's start with the simple things:

please post the unedited results of:

ipconfig /all > c:\iptest.txt

from the SBS and the effected workstation when it is not working.

Try a different patch cord, a different port in the switch, a different wall
outlet.

Does the computer show up in Server Management - Computers?

Any related events in the event viewer of either the workstation or the SBS?

I have a new SBS2003 Standard Install. Installed SP1 and Exchange SP2. 14
clients workstation and 15 Cals. All but one workstation works perfectly
,used connectcomputer wizard to setup workstations. On the problem
workstation I can log into the server and all is well Exchange updates
email
but after 5mins or so Outlook disconnects and I no longer have access to
the
internet. If I reboot the workstation I connect again launch outlook
Exchange
updates mail but it disconnects again. I have refomated the system did a
fresh install of xp pro SP2 but the problem continues. I also checked the
cableing and installed a new nic card. Also when I log into the Exchange
Store mailbox's it does not show that the problem workstation has log on.
Any help I much appreciatec.
