Hello Rodney,
Thank you for your post and Larry's input.
Based on the symptoms and your troubleshooting steps, if the issue persists
after you have reinstalled the operating system and changed a NIC card,
then it may be caused by network connection issue or virus/spyware
infection. I'd like suggest you try the following steps:
1. Disjoin the workstation from the SBS domain, remove the computer from
the SBS Client Computer group and rejoin domain by using
http://servername/connectcomputer wizard.
2. When the issue occurs, please check if the total network connections are
lost on the NIC card. If the total network connections are lost, it should
be a network connection issue more than Exchange connection issue.
Try to use Ipconfig /renew to get new IP address from your DHCP server(I
suppose the client is DHCP enabled and the SBS server should be the DHCP
server, right?).
3. Boot that client computer into "Safe Mode with Networking" mode to see
if the issue persists.
Perform the following steps to go to Safe Mode with Networking to see if
this issue occurs again.
-----------------------------------------
1. Reboot the computer.
2. When the Starting Windows screen shows, press F8.
3. Select Safe Mode with Networking and press Enter.
4. Log on as Administrator.
5. Does this issue occur in Safe Mode with Networking mode?
However, if we cannot resolve the issue after we perform the above steps,
please help me collect some information for further investigation:
Information Need
==============
Gather MPS network report on the workstation:
a. Download MPSrepot_network from
http://download.microsoft.com/download/b/b/1/bb139fcb-4aac-4fe5-a579-30b0bd9
15706/MPSRPT_NETWORK.EXE
b. Run MPSRPT_NETWORK.exe.
c. The tool will automatically collect the information. This procedure will
take 10~15 minutes.
d. Open Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder:
%SystemRoot%\MPSReports\Network\Reports\Cab\
e. Send the .cab file directly to me at: v-robmen@xxxxxxxxxxxxx .
Hope this helps. Also, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not
hesitate to let me know.
Thank you for your time and cooperation.
Best regards,
Robbin Meng(MSFT)
