you're correct Dave. the Firewall logging was pointed to D:\ and the Web
Proxy settings was set for "ISALogs folder (in the ISA server installation
folder). So I pointed this to D:\Program Files\Microsoft ISA Server\ISALogs.
So I still cannot delete those remaining ISA logs in the old location. I
will try tomorrow when I can shutdown ISA services and try to delete.
Thanks. I knew I used to ISA MMC to make changes I just forgot where it was.

Here's the short answer, please post back if you still have questions.
ISA
has more than one log, and I'm guessing you moved only one. So when you
delete the files, ISA recreates the ones you didn't move. You have files
like ISALOG_20080820_WEB_000.mdf and .ldf on one drive, and
ISALOG_20080820_FWS_000.mdf and .ldf on the other, right? If so, that
indicates you only changed the settings for one set of logs.
In the ISA console, select Monitoring in the left pane, Logging in the
center, and Tasks in the right. In the Tasks pane, you need to
check/change
Configure Firewall Logging and Configure Web Proxy Logging. Make sure
both
point to the path you're using on D. You might as well take a look at the
SMTP screener settings while you're in there, in case you're using that or
start at some point.

OK I already did this however I can no longer find the document or NG
posting or whatever I used to do so. I do know I did use some kind of
article but a Google search did not find what I was looking for or used.
So here is my problem and what I did and still need to do. I moved my ISA
server log files from the defualt location C:\Program Files\Microsoft ISA
Server\ISALogs to a different partition D:\Program Files\Microsoft ISA
Server\ISALogs. Now I do remember the article said to use the same
directory naming convention and if possible path which I did. It is
working as new log files are appearing daily. I also remember having to
go
into the ISA Management Console and redirect the path to the new
location.
Obiuosly I did it correct as it is working.
Now I want to delete all the log files in the old location. I couldn't do
it because I was getting files are being used. So I turned off the ISA
service and was able to delete the files with the exception of the temp
ldf and mdf files. Also when I finished deleting the other files new log
files were created which I cannot delete because they are being used but
I'm pretty sure if I stop the ISA services it would be no problem. So I
got a few questions here.
1. Where is that darn article I used ot is there a better one?
2. How do I stopped ISA from writing log files to the old location.
3. Where was I when I redirected the path for the ISA log files?
4. I want to totally take C:\Program Files\Microsoft ISA Server\ISALogs
out of the picture.
Thanks
.
