RE: Issue with user profile folders and outlook

Thank you Miles Li for your reply.

I am referring to the point 2 & 3 you instructed me to do. I'm still getting
the event ID #107 and #1058 although I have deleted the user profile as
instructed. As a result, I have decided not to save "my documents" for users
so it's disabled now. Despite of this, i'm still getting the same errors.

I'm going to send the events log to you as soon as i get in to the office
first thing in the morning.

Thank you in advance

Hello,

Thanks for the update.

First of all, please ensure that the Windows XP clients have the latest
service pack installed because there are some known issues such as Event ID
1521 is logged when enabling the NetBIOS over TCP/IP (NetBT) to connect to
your network:

831651 "The roaming profile cannot be found" error message
when you log on to your network from a Windows XP-based computer

1. To clean up the offline files cache, you may refer to£º

database

When a process or application fails to disconnect to the registry keys in
the user profile after a user logs off, the similar symptom will be shown.
To correct that, you can use the UPHClean as you mentioned.

2 & 3. These two error event logs should result from the new logon name
(from user to user.test). System try to move the redirect folder to a new
place because the logon name is changed. Meanwhile, Event 107 may occur
when a user who changes the logon name logs on to a client on which the
user logs on before. Please try to delete the original user profile on
computers on which the user logged on before the name change. For more
information, please refer to the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

running Windows Vista or Windows XP when you change the user name in Active
Directory
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;953529

4. From the event log provided, you set the roaming profile for users also
with the My Documents folder redirection. By default, the offline files
feature is enabled on the shared folder that holds the folder redirection
data. However, please note the Cache Option for offline must be disabled on
roaming user profile shares. This is a known issue that you can refer to
the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

Roaming User Profile Shares
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287566

If the issue persists, could you please help to collect the following
information for our further investigation?

1. Please explain the exact roaming profile and folder redirection path
configured.
2. Export all Event logs to *.evt file from the client and send to me at
:Miles Li <mailto:v-mileli@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>.

I hope these steps will give you some help. If you have any questions or
concerns, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Best regards,

Miles Li
