the 'stub' zone _msdcs.etc is normal.
In your .etc zone you will have a pointer to the stub.
I'm not really sure, and don't really care, why Windows DNS Server sometimes
does and other times doesn't use the 'stub'.

Hi Trevor,
If you are still getting the errors, then yes, I would reboot the
server.
You also need to install SP2 for Exchange which should have been
installed
ages ago. Rerun the SBS BPA.

Hi Trevor,
The SBS BPA is giving you enough clues which should be solved. The
windows
firewall service should NOT be enabled and is most likely the main
culprit
of your errors.

Hi Tricky,
Have you tried rebooting the server since you changed the
IP
address?
This normally indicates a problem with DNS.
Rebooting should restore the DNS entrys for AD

I have done some recent modifications to a clients SBS
2003
I changed the IP address of the Server from 192.168.1.2
(255.255.255.0) to 192.168.16.2 (255.255.255.0)
This was due to an issue with Remote Access and users
having
the
same
IP range on their home routers as the server.
I also enabled the second NIC card and gave it an
address of
172.16.0.2 (255.255.0.0)
I ran the internet and email wizard and enabled the
firewall.
Ever since I have had the following event ID in Event

The server has actually been rebooted twice. once
following the
IP
change and again after Trend CSM had to be reinstalled as
it
would
not
recognise the new IP.

As with everything I do on SBS 2003, I used the wizard if one

I have addressed the following issues as per the SBS BPA.
Reverse DNS Zone
Disables Internet Connection Sharing
Internal Internet Adapter Not Configured To Register IP Address In
DNS
The only outstanding issues are
Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 SP 1 is Running
OWA Update For Exchange Server Is Not Installed
Windows SBS 2003 Service Pack 1 Is Running
Do I need to reboot the server for these changes to take effect?
Regards
Trevor
Thanks, will reboot the Server when I get the Ok from my client that
they are not using it.
I have WSUS installed so assumed that anything required would be
downloaded and installed.
Will investigate.

Trevor
I have rebooted the server, but still get my original error messages
for Event ID 1030 and 1050. I still cannot also manage anything in
GPO.
I think the GPO issue may be why 2 clients have not reported under
WSUS
I have run SBS BPA and only have the error relating to
Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 SP 1 is Running
OWA Update For Exchange Server Is Not Installed
Windows SBS 2003 Service Pack 1 Is Running
What else can I try?
Trevor
I have also noticed the following in

I also have the following directory on the server which I can browse
C:\Windows\sysvol\domain\Policies
