Issue with user profile folders and outlook

Hi,
I was wondering if i could get some help here with my problem. When i
checked under C:\Documents and Settings, found that there are many folders
for users who have ever logged onto the computer. I understand that those
folders are automatically created but what confuses me is there are two
folders for the same users, one for michael and the other one for
michael.companyserver.
Plus, today i have one user who logged in and another profile folder is
created namely michael.companyserver.000
Is that .000 indicate that a temporary profile folder is created?
I don't understand this. I have just set up a customised roaming profile for
all users including user Michael. Not sure if this is to do with the way i
created the customised roaming profile. I created it by logging into the
server as a normal user and logged out after creating the desktop settings i
want, including applications, shortcuts and so on. However, the server does
not have microsoft office installed on it. Hence, not sure if this is the
reason why the outlook isn't working either. When Michael open up his outlook
(which normally works), an error message pop up that said "the file specified
for c:\...\outlook.pst is not valid".
The server runs on SBS 2003 and the rest of PCs run on XP Pro.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance
.
