Hello,
If HP Support cannot help then this is going to be a difficult one.
Well it is just a matter of getting past level 1 support. He sent me the CD and asked me to use that to do the install. I can't see how that will help, and since it is a remote site it will be difficult.
What kind of printer is it?
HP Color Laserjet 2605
Is every printer affected or is it just this one?
Just HP printers, they have some lexmark and Ricoh printers and they seem to be fine.
Is everything else working OK?
No other issues besides the printers have been reported.
Can you print to it if you set it up direct on a client?
The front one was changed to direct and the customer tells me it was working, but I have other pritners hooked up directly and they don't work. I have emailed the client to confirm that it is or isn't working.
Are you using the Network install option for the drivers?
I created the Printer using the add printer wizard I created a new Standard TCP/IP port for the printer and put the static IP address assigned to the printer for the port.

I know this is going to be a weird question, but I don't know where else to turn.
I currently needed to replace a Windows Server 2003 SBS server. What I did was load up a new SBS server with a new domain name and basically recreated all the roles from scratch. I then migrated all the data to the new server.
Everything was working fine except the HP printer in the environment. They for some reason will not print and will fail immediately.
I can ping them, I can browse the website URL, I can make configuration changes. I have configured a static IP address everything connects fine, but when I go to print it immediately fails.
Any computer on the old domain can print without issues, and if I install the printer on my notebook which is not part of their domain it works fine.
I have run through troubleshooting with HP and they do not have an answer for me.
Any help would be appreciated. I have switched the printers to USB cables and for a short time I thought they were working, but slowly as a few days went by they all stopped working.
Oh yeah on further note because the printer was under warranty HP replaced it with their advanced exchange program, so any network settings embeded in the printer would have been lost.
Thank you,
Walter Beach
