Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Steve,

Did you see my post regarding IE7?

Just to warn you, your site has port 80 open, which is not needed unless you
are running a public web site on SBS, and most of us consider that not worth
the risk.

Your self-signed SSL cert does not match names with your mail server. It is
issued to pcwhip.redirectme.net, yet you have your SBS at mail.pcwhip.com.
Every time I have hit the error you noted, it was either because 4125 was
not forwarded, or more recently, that IE7 disabled the ActiveX control.

I'm starting to think it's my router that's the problem. Gonna swap it out
and make sure. Has anyone ever heard of a 'protocol' called GRE that needs
to be open as well as all the ports? It's not a 'port' but a a 'protocol'
that's needed for VPN access. I wonder if that could be the trouble...

Still searching....

Hello all,

I've got an SBS 2003 server which is setup using only 1 NIC. In the past
I have always used the recommended 2 NIC method, however in this
particular case I was forced to go with a single NIC scenario due to an
in place router which could not be removed.

Anyway, everything is functional with 1 exception - I am having trouble
connecting to desktops via the Remote Web Workplace from 'Outside'.
Internally I can do this with no troubles. However from outside, I can
get to the list of computers, but when trying to connect to one, I get
the error;

"The client could not connect to the remote computer. Remote connections
might not be enabled or the computer might be too busy to accept new
connections....."

I have double-checked & triple-checked that all the correct ports are
open on the router. Ports 80, 443, 444, 1723, 3389 and 4125 are OPEN.
Outlook web access works. Other applications such as SMTP work. I am
wondering is there any particular KNOWN issue where RWW won't work with a
single NIC installation???

Thanks for any help!

- SV
