Error saving files to My Docs

I have a user on Vista SP1 saving to his My Docs (SBS 2003 Premium)
and sometimes it works no problem...other times he is getting the
following error:

\\SERVERX\USERS\NAME\DAN\MY DOCUMENTS\FOLDER\BLAH.PDF
You don't have permission to save in this location.
Contact the administrator to obtain permission.
Would you like to save in the DAN.DOMAIN folder instead?

I don't know why it is random...he obviously has permission to save to
his My Docs folder as well as his folder on the server.

Any ideas?
