RE: DHCP with RRAS & LAN clients

BTW It is a single NIC server and the network is:

Cisco 878 (SHDSL modem/router)-------------Cisco Catalyst 500 24
port-------------Clients and SBS 2003

There are no VLANs configured, although Smartport roles are: Server port
setup as Server, the printer ports are setup as Printer and the PC ports
are setup as Desktop.

Server is a Dell 2900, PCs are Dell Optiplex, printers are OKI, Brother and
HP. None get DHCP.

I guess I can try taking in a standard switch and plug in a PC to see if
the Cisco is at fault.

Weird thing is that it worked for about 2 months, then suddenly stopped. As
far as I can determine nothing has been changed on the network. The server
listens on 68 but just never picks anything up, so of course I need to find
where it's getting waylaid. The switch is about the last thing. As I said I
did think it might have been an update to XP, but the printers can't get
addresses either. I didn't know at the time as I had set them up as static
anyway, but one lost it's configuration and I tried to get back in with
DHCP but it just got nowhere. Brought it back to my office and plugged it
in and suddenly it worked, so it's got to be the network there.
