Hi,
I was wondering if there are ways of setting up personalise setting on all Client PCs from the SBS 2003 server. What i mean is that the server can impose the settings that we ask it on all the PCs connected to it. I know that we can set the Homepage or logon/logoff to our desire on the server. So when a user logs in, he/she will not have to worry about setting up this setting here or there because all the settings are based on the company's policy.
There was an occasion where i logged in to the PC for the first time, the Windows automatically created one up for me. Now, i don't blame Windows for doing that but i was thinking that instead of Windows, the server actually applies the settings to the PC.
Is this possible? because i've been looking around but couldn't find the features that i wanted.
Thank you in advance
As well as Group Policy Settings, you can set up a Default profile on the server that gets used the first time a user logs on to a workstation. It involves creating the profile you want on the workstation and copying it to the Netlogon share as Default User. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/168475 You also need to do something with the outlook prf file so that the exchange settings are applied when the user first logs on.
