Re: Need help finding tools to diagnose SBS/Exchange prob...

Jim,

In the Server Management Console, under Advanced Management, expand 'First Organization(Exchange)', expand 'Servers | <ServerName>' and you'll see 'Queues'. Click on it and see if on the right pane, there are any messages waiting to be routed.

A 'smart host' is an 'intermediate' server which can receive your emails and route them to their destinations. When you run CEICW, you have the option to select how the emails are routed (using either DNS or a smart host). A smart host is usually the server at the ISP and if this is the option you used when you run CEICW you usually have to supply an id and password to connect there.

Thanks for this. i will look at it and implement ASAP.

Reading your post, one thing that comes to mind is if you use a smart host

Smart host? Sorry. Don't know what that is. We have our own domain name,
we've registered the mail.ourdomain.com, and Exchange is supposed to

message queues and see whether the messages are staying on the server or are

being routed. One last thing, is to check whether you have this issue with
all domains, or just certain domains.

Oh, it's ALL domains, all right, except, of course, our own.
