Re: Vista sync problems

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

You could try deleting all the files, then re-synching everything. I'm not sure why that would work any better, but it's worth a shot. The delete button is on the Disk Usage tab in Offline Files. Any user should be able to delete his/her offline files, but if there's more than one user on the PC, you'll probably need an account with admin rights to delete all the files.

What if you open Sync Center and manually initiate a sync? Do you get any more useful error information (click View sync results and View sync conflicts)?

Here's how you reset offline in XP. I'm not sure if this works in Vista or not, but it's almost always fixed any issues I've had on XP client PCs.

How to re-initialize the offline files cache and database

Thanks for your reply.

Good idea, I just tried that, from within the user's session. Problem: the
two files are not in the offline cache ! Very strange.. I guess they must be
somewhere, but where? Could it be that I need admin rights at the domain
level to do that?

The first thing I would do is to go to Start Search -> Offline. Open
"Offline Files" and click the button to view the files. Delete the two
files in question from the offline cache and let them sync again.
