I know this is off topic, but wonder why do you say 'not host' public
website? We need to do this as we use database which will be used for
internal users, also to feed content to website, but information is
interelated.

I prefer if we keep it here in the group since I don't have that much free
time. Sometimes I need to clear my head and I just jump in here. Sorry
about that...
You wrote that there is no SQL instance under Services. Isn't there a
MSSQL$SBSMONITORING service running? That's the instance for the Monitoring
database. If there isn't, you have to go to the Control Panel, Windows
Small Business Server 2003 and reinstall the Monitoring component. Just
follow the wizard, then put the 'Server Tools' in Maintenance Mode and the
'Monitoring' in Reinstall.
After you complete this, see if Monitoring is working. The Best Practices
Analyzer shows the steps you need to take. Fix them one at a time. The
Companyweb issue leave it for the end. As far as the public site goes, it
isn't recommended to have a public facing site on the SBS server.

What is the Millmaxnetwork.com site? Does it use the same IP address as
the
server and does it have a host header?

Before you do anything with SharePoint let's make sure you have the
Monitoring and Backup sites working.
In general, it isn't necessary to restart the server but it doesn't
hurt
to do it. Also make sure that the ASP.net version is set to 1.1 for
the
Default Web Site. If restarting the server doesn't solve the
problem,
post the names of the different sites you have there, so I can get
an
idea
of what is running under IIS

Ok, I have made those changes and nothing has happend. I stopped
the
Default
Web Site and re-started the service, again neither monitoring or
backup
are
pages are working, Do I need to re-start the server to fix this?
will
the
changes be immediate?
In relation to the companyweb, If I go through the steps again
re-installing
will this help? or will it simply cause more problems?
Thanks for your help with this

There must be a misconfiguration on the IIS sites (which is
something
that I
see often here in the forums). Start by going to the IIS Manager,
Default
Web Sites, Properties, and see if the IP address is set to (All
Unassigned).
Then click the Advanced button and make sure that under 'Multiple
identities..." you have two entries. One for port 80 and host
header
the
name of the server, and one with IP address 127.0.0.1, at port 80
with
empty
host header.
That should fix the Backup and Monitoring issue.
For companyweb it's tough to tell what is going on because
following
the
document carefully is something that works and I'm not sure what
prevents
the reinstallation from succeeding.
