hi,

i'd like to allow my users to gain access to exe files.
unfortunately, it seems my exchange SBS 2003 is configured to block
them.

is there a worlkaround?

i search quite a lot already, but without success.

thanks

As file attachments? If you told Exchange to block them when running
the CEICW, re-run it & allow them. However: it could also be Outlook
blocking the attachments (or your antivirus software). You should
not allow potentially dangerous file types to come in as
attachments. If it's imperative that someone receive an EXE file as
an attachment, have the sender at least zip it.

thanks for your answers.
i think it was done with the CEICW.
I wish i had a simpler way, using this assistant is scarry, it messes
up with so much thing...

It shouldn't. The CEICW *is* the simpler way. All of the SBS wizards are
designed to make it easier for you to administer your server - the hard way
is when yuo aren't using SBS. And the file blocking feature is not part of
Exchange, but SBS, so there is no other way.

as for exe, well ... i'm aware of the potential danger, but i can't
avoird it.

That's silly - of course you can. Most systems administrators don't allow
executables or other potentially dangerous files to come through their mail
servers.

thanks again
