Re: SBS Exchange w/POP3 and Blackberry users

I have run BES on a SBS server successfully. It didn't blow up Exchange. It did have some performance problems but the server was underpowered to start with. If you only have a few users and want to sync email only you can setup the Blackberry to use OWA to get email from an Exchange server. I found this was a better solution for me than BES. I use OWA to get email to the Blackberry and I sync my appointments when I'm in the office with the Blackberry desktop software.

Installing BES on SBS is a BAAAAD idea.

I had 1 client, who thought he knew what he was doing, install BES on
a new SBS server and it TOTALLY blew up Exchange.,

I recall reading somewhere, perhaps in the manual for BES, that you
shouldn't install it on the same server as your exchange server, or
something similar to that. They may have fixed that though, as this
was done last year.

Anyways, I use the contact method for a couple of people ... Other
than that, I recommend getting rid of the blackberry and getting a
windows mobile phone and using direct push.
