Re: WSUS Problem - Help Needed

Hi Siv,

In order to sharing our experience with the other users and help them to
search/find specific answers more efficiently in the future, I would like
to make a summary here:

Problem description:
=====================
You met the following error when using WSUS 3.0 SP1 Server Clean Up Wizard:

The WSUS administration console was unable to connect to the WSUS Server
Database.

Verify that SQL server is running on the WSUS Server. If the problem
persists, try restarting SQL.

System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException -- Timeout expired. The timeout period
elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not
responding.
The statement has been terminated.

Thanks again for your time and cooperation.

Have a nice day :-)

| | Guozhen,
| |
| | I restarted the SQL Server services and then retried, this cleared the
| issue
| | as the "Server Cleanup Wizard" now completes successfully without
hitting
| an
| | error quite early on in the cleanup process. I have now recovered over
| 32GB
| | of space from my Server's C: Drive.
| |
| | Thanks for your help.
