Larry,

Thanks a lot for the suggestion, is the migration tool any special way of
doing the "move" to the new hardware, thanks for letting me know that I can
have more than one DC but it sound that I still cannot replicate the AD for
"redundacy" and backup, thanks for your help and have a great day.
Regards,

Miguel

Hi Miguel:

First, just to clear any mis conceptions, you may indeed have second, or
third or as many as you want DC's in an SBS network. You just cannot have
another SBS in the same AD.

The best way to move your SBS to new hardware is www.swingmigration.com.
Allows you to keep your existing server name, ip address, unc paths,
shortcuts, and workstations intact before, during, and after the change.

For the small amount they charge, you get complete documentation, and they
will hold your hand while you work through it.

But the best part is that it is reversible. If, at any time during the
process you think you have made, or indeed make, and error, you can start
over at the beginning.

Hello There,

I have a main SBS 2003 and the hardware is not reliable enough and I need
to
move the whole AD to a new hardware, could you please provide information
on
the best way to transition to a new hardware?, I was thinking on making an
Image of the server and then using the new hadware as the repository;
there
are two windows 2003 member servers working as Terminal servers and we
need
the least disruptions to these two servers, the domain is a SBS AD domian
and
therefore I cannot have a secondary DC as in Windows 2003 AD, please could
you point to best practices and or image maker, thanks and have a great
day.
Kindest regards,

Miguel
