Re: companyweb - Sharepoint services

Hi Guys,

Update to the last posts, When re-installing components, I got some errors,
when looking at the IIS websites, I had 3 companywebsite's 2 of which were
not running, I have deleted the two that were not running and now get a page
cannot be displayed error, also the reporting and moitoring and backup page
does not display either.

Also the MSSQL server is running but does not have a server listed or any
services running.

Hi Costas,

To update you, I have now re-installed the sharepoint services and now have
access to the virtual server settings, however, I cannot view companyweb and
get the page error:

You are not authorized to view this page
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the
credentials that you supplied because your Web browser is sending a
WWW-Authenticate header field that the Web server is not configured to
accept.

Can you please advise were I can update these settings to allow me to view
the page now.

Are you trying to restore a specific database or are you trying to just make
companyweb operational with the default installation?

If it is the second you are trying to accomplish, then you must follow the
article I posted in detail, because that's the only way you can get the
default installation running. If you still get errors, please post the
exact errors you are getting

Hi Costas,

many thanks for that, However, I have already run through that, as per my
step 3, this has made no difference and now appear not to have a database,
as
keep getting this error messgae when I try to access //companyweb

Any suggestions on how I can re-install the internal database?

Les

I tried to move the sharepoint database, it did not go well, and cannot
get
the companyweb to work again.

I have tried to reinstall the system again by the following steps:

1. Tried to repair Sharepoint 2.0 via control panel, this did not work
2. Using CD3 of install disk re-installed the intranet component, this
has
not worked either.
3. Removed the internal database, and then run through step 2 again,
still
not luck.

Since doing these changes the MSSQL server is running, assuming because
I
have removed the internal database.

Can anyone advise best method to re-install, fix this problem.

SBS 2003 R2,

Regards
