Yes, assuming everything else is OK with the server BIOS and SBS installed
software, you should be able to install SBS SP1 at this point. I'm assuming
you already have Exchange 2003 SP2 installed. If not, install it first (in
place of Exchange 2003 SP1 as noted in the install procedures). Also, make
sure you have a full backup of the server before doing the upgrade to SBS
2003 SP1.

Is it sufficient to try and install SBS SP1 without rolling back Windows
Server 2003 SP2? ... given the problems I've had with SPs I'm not very
confident I won't have to do a bare metal restore after attempting to
remove
SP2.
Thanks!

Hi Michael,
Do not upgrade to Windows 2003 SP1 or SP2 without SBS 2003 SP1. (SBS
does
not like this condition). Remove Win2003 SP2 and get back to a none good
state with SBS. Then...
Install and run a scan with the SBS 2003 BPA:

Before you upgrade, make sure your Server BIOS is upgraded to work
correctly
with Win2003 SP1 and SP2.

I just installed another new 750GB external USB HD. I created folders,
assigned share permissions and security to the folders to allow user
PCs
on the LAN to backup to the drive. When I try and view the shared
folders
from a PC on the LAN I get access denied error with "Not enough server
storage is available to process this request.". I get this error even
if
I use domain admin user. I have other external USB HDs which allow
users
to access the same folder names. We swap these drives out so they
always
have the same drive letter and shares. The only thing that's changed on
the Server is we installed SP2 for Windows 2003 Server. SBS itself has
no
SPs installed (SP1 fails).
Thanks for any help with this.
