RE: Why is my company name appearing twice at top of faxes?

Hi,

Thanks for your information.

According to your description, you have reinstall fax service for several
times. I think you may right that this action caused duplicated company
name in configuration. Based on my experience, the first step in the Fax
Configuration Wizard is to gather information that will be displayed on the
cover page of outgoing faxes. Here you can input a company name, phone
number, fax number, and company address. By default, this information will
be populated. The information can come from one of two registry locations:

First, the Fax TAPI is checked:
HKEY_CURRENT_User\software\microsoft\fax\userinfo

If the data there is blank, it will populate from:
HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Smallbusinessserver

The Wizard will use the information from "Company," "Fax," "Phone,"
"Address1," "Address2," "City," "State," and "Zip" in the registry.

TSID (Transmitting Station Identification) and CSID (Caller Sender
Identification) are defaulted from Company Name. This information is
included with every sent fax. If all the fields are left blank in this
section, the TSID and CSID are set to Fax.

If the company name is longer than 20 characters, it will be truncated to
be 20 characters. This is to comply with the TSID and CSID limitations on
hardware fax machines.

So I would like to suggest that you to open regedit to check the registry
entries to make sure there are no duplicated records.

Hope it helps.

Best regards,

Gary Wang(MSFT)

|
| Thank you for responding to my post. I performed the steps you suggested
| and sent a fax from the SBS server. It did repeat the name. Attached is
| the received fax. I checked in the fax configuration and made sure the
| company name is only appearing 1 time and it is. I also changed it
several
| times to clear out any possible corruption and each time it duplicated
| whatever I entered in the wizard.
|
| No event log listings for FAX
| This issue has always been a problem. This is a new server so we have
| always had this problem.
| Issue occurs to ALL outgoing faxes.
| Screen capture included in this email
| Issue occurs to ALL users
| Happens on ALL pages of fax
|
| I do not find any PSS log files that you decribe at location %windir%\
| system32\LogFiles\Fax\Incoming\FSPRxxx.log. The file structure is there
| but there are no files there. I even searched on FSPR and found no such
| files. If these are failed log files, then there wouldn't be any since I
| have not had any "failed" faxes.
|
| I should also add that fax services were installed and removed several
| times on this server. Is it possible that a duplicate entry of some sort
| has been placed into a configuration file that would tell it to place the
| co name twice at the to of the fax? I guess we should look and see if
it's
| an xml file or some sort of stensil file that might have a bad
| configuration. I look forward to your help.

| | | I configured SBS faxing services mostly so we could fax/print and more
