Re: Why Windows 2003 Server keep beeping for no reason?

No, that is not that low on memory and that would no cause a beep to
occur.

So you opened the web GUI page for the Intel raid manager, logged in
as an administrator or as a lookie loo and it said all arrays were
good? Looking at the event viewer may not tell you if there is a
problem. The other way to check is to reboot the server and to go into
the raid manager when it is booting up to look. You really do not want
to reboot until you have a good backup run. So far the only time I
have heard a server beep is when the raid is goofed up. UPSs will beep
when they have bad batteries but that beep is occasional and annoying
while raid problems cause constant beeping.

The raid driver is from Intel and driver is updated. No hdd is faulty. The
only thing I can notice is, the CRM program has memory leaking, so the free
memory for server is only 150MB. Will that cause server beeping?

Just as a note, any good raid controller driver would write an event log for
a degraded RAID. If it ends up being a degraded RAID array and your event
logs are clear as you indicated, check with the manufacturer and make sure
you have the most up-to-date drivers...

We got a windows 2003 server which start to beep this morning. I checked
all
the event log, there is no problem with the,. We used to have the
experience,
the ups usb cable drop signal make it beeping. Is there any other reasons
for
that? Or does MS have any reference for beeping?

Thanks!

Similar to what Steve said, the last time I had a beeping Windows 2003
server it was because of a degraded RAID.
