RE: Audio driver: which PCI sound cards are natively supported?

My Englsh, I know, is not the better, but I think that I'm not undersood.
I try to be more clear ... I hope.

I'd know why you can find the Creative card driver from CD,
maybe you need to contact the Creative support.

I ask this question only to Microsoft, because the system has found the
driver on the original Microsoft CD, disc that Microsoft has built.
Creative has no driver for servers.

Since you want to install a un-compatible audio card on your SBS

No, exacly the opposite: I want install a card with the driver on the
standard Microsoft CD.

I try to explain my question in a different manner.
In the server I have searched for the drivers (actually the Audio driver is
"Microsoft RDP audio driver"): Control Panel -> Add Hardware -> Manually
selected -> Sound cards.
I find only these PCI cards:
- ESS Allegro PCI Audio (WDM)
- ESS Maestro 3 PCI Audio (WDM)
- SiS 7018 Audio Driver
I think that, if I can found one of these cards, my problem is gone. But I
can't.

I have tried some audio cards that I have in my office (the Creative one was
OK) but I can't use this card because it wants 5V and the motherboard of the
server can supporto only 3.3V PCI cards.

Now, before I can buy a sound card at 3.3V, I must know the list of the
cards that are supported from SO.
HCL list products that are not in Italy, no people on this newsgroup seem
know the list that I search for ...

The strange is that this card is not on the HCL nor in the list from the
server ... but works and it is correctly recognized.
Why?
The right question that can help me is different: what are all the sound
cards that, although not listed in HCL nor in the server, are recognized from
SO and works?

Thanks for your patience.

|
| OK, it's right.
|
| > Based on my research, for compatible PCI audio card for SBS 2003 server, you

|
| I have already searched the HCL before my post: I can't buy in Italy any of
| the very very few (and hold) cards listed.
|
| > If you install an not compatible PCI audio card on SBS, you may take
| > risks yourself.
|
| Exact, this is what I don't want.
|
| I have put, in a trial server, a Creative card (Creative don't write drives
| for servers and the card was not on the HCL ) and the system has found the
| correct drive between those that Microsoft has packed in the standard CD (as
| writed, I can't use this card for a problem on voltage).
| Therefore Windows SBS come with some audio drivers!
|
| Now, as the card that I have installed succesfully is not listed in HCL,
| which PCI cards are supported by the drivers that come standard with SBS 2003?
|
|
| > Personally, the SBS is a domain controller and email server of your network,

|
| Ok, but I *must* install a PCI audio card on this server ... a long story
| not important here.
