I hear you--that's why I suggested searching the registry on the GUID for that control found in the link I posted.

I'm not sure what is blocking the request for installation, but it seems to me that the GUID would have to be involved--worth looking for, at least.

The Problem with all these "solutions" is that they all assume you are upgrading from SP2 and that you already have the Terminal Service plug in installed. Even the MS KB page (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/951607/) assumes the TS client is installed.

So now I guess my question is how do I get the Terminal Service client installed?

Hmm - that is exactly the fix that I would have thought you needed. I've 14 machines with SP3 installed working fine with RWW, but none was a clean slipstreamed install.

I think that thead you cite is confusing because it relates to beta versions of SP3. There are a lot of "fixes" listed--did you really try all of them?

shows the GUID for the activex control involved. It might be useful to search the registry to see if this GUID is present and what the entry settings do, if it is.

I wonder if the killbit is set, even though you never had a chance to install the control on this machine?
