Hello Dan,
Thank you for your post.
My name is Gary Wang, and it is my pleasure to work with you on this issue!
Please allow me to confirm that my understandings are correct. As I
understand it, the issue is:
Your IPAQ which is running Windows Mobile 6 cannot access file share on SBS
2003 server with login prompting pop up.
If I have misunderstood your concerns please feel free to let me know.
Suggestion :
==============
Considering the XP pro computers can access file share without any
problems, I think the configuration on server side should be right. And for
the questions about mobile device with WM6, I would like to suggest that
you to use the Microsoft mobile
newsgroup(microsoft.public.pocketpc.phone_edition) for which should be the
most relevant resource for your question:
http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=micros
oft.public.pocketpc.phone_edition
Hope it helps.
I look forward to your reply. Also, if you have any questions or concerns,
please do not hesitate to let me know. I am happy to help. :-)
Thank you for your time and cooperation!
Best regards,
Gary Wang(MSFT)

| Hi,
| We are using an IPAQ running Windows Mobile 6. We want to access shares
on
| the network.
| We can access shares on a Windows XP Pro machine no problem but when on
the
| same network trying to access a share on a Windows 2003 SBS the login
fails
| and a messge box prompting for a username and password continues to pop
up
| (because of the failed access).
| The event viewer on the server though shows a successful login.
| The user is administrator and has full control on the shares. We
verified
| it is not a firewall issue. We verified it is not a WAP issue.
| We actually took the ipaq to another network to see if it could access
| folders and the same issue occurs and it seems to be only with the
Windows
| 2003 SBS (it works on Windows 2000 server).
| Any advise would be appreciated.
| Thanks.
