Strange, isn't it. I thought this would be impossible, but it happened to
me at one location. Let me see if I can find the notes.
In the meantime, what happens if you reverse the direction, put the fax
first and the modem second?
Am I right that you have already set the fax to answer on more rings than
the modem?

I just installed a new SBS 2003 R2 server for a client. They have a
fax machine that is sharing the outside phone line as the new server.
I have the outside line connected to the 'line' port of the server
modem and the 'phone' port of the modem goes to the fax machine. They
want all incomming faxes to go to the machine.
When I try faxing from a PC using the shared fax on the server, the
fax is sent, however, the fax is also recieved on the fax machine. I
tried putting a phone line splitter on the wall jack with the same
results.
Any ideas?
