Hi
My sbs 2003 server (on C: drive) started giving error "Lsass.exe: When
trying to update a password the value return indicates that the value passed
as current password is not correct" and then rebooting automatically.
I tried safe mode and last known good configuration...no luck. I tried
repair form original sbs 2003 R2 disks still no luck. I can't use the repair
console as it wont accept my administrator password anymore.
I then installed bare windows 2003 on a second physical disk (drive G:) in
the system. I can boot into windows 2003 and can access original sbs 2003
disk. I even copied system, software and security feels form
c:\windows\system32\repair to c:\windows\system32\config still no luck
logging in to original sbs2003 and same lsass.exe as above appears and
system reboots.
I have an ntbackup of last night and several others form recent past. Can I
restore some files form the backup to fix this? If not what is the point of
backing up system state and windows folders?
Thanks
Regards
.
