Re: restrict folder access while VPN is established

This is true, but since SBS will freak out if it sees you exceeding your CALs, you can't try to cheat the system.

If User A is logging on via VPN with account #1, they should *NOT* also be logged on locally with account #2. One user, two accounts, but still only logged into 1 account at any given time. Attempting to circumvent this would confuse SBS's licensing engine and you could find yourself in a situation where SBS thinks you have exceeded your licenses.

Hi Steve:

What are the licensing issues? If user1 has an account "user1" that uses a CAL. If user1 also has an account "user2", is that the same or a different CAL? And what if 10 different persons use the user2 account? Since this is remote access, device CALs don't seem applicable.

There are no licensing issues.

Accounts are irrelevant for CAL purposes. If I as a user have a user CAL associated with my physical presence (and I'm not using my "I'm Administrating" CAL bypass hat), I can log on using as many accounts as I wish. It's all covered by *my* User CAL.
