RE: Cannot Connect via remote desktop

Hi Terence,

Many thanks for that, and yes I could get in via remote desktop. However,
after a while the system just stops working!! When I try to login again I get
this error: (email sent)

Nothing has changed it is still the same as when I could login ??

Hi Les,

Thank you for your update.

Now, you can establish the VPN connection from internal clients, that means
the SBS configuration is properly. This is router port forwarding issue.

Therefore, what you need to do now is:

Ensure you forward the TCP port 1732 (PPTP VPN) and GRE 47 (PPTP VPN) from
your D-link router to SBS (192.168.1.5). Please contact your D-link router
support for help.

Note: We unable to ensure the UPnP works fine for this setting.

Based on my test, I can access your SBS RWW and OWA via
https://vpn.millmax.co.uk/remote/ and https://vpn.millmax.co.uk/exchange/.
I can also RDP connect your SBS server thru vpn.millmax.co.uk.

If there's anything else about this issue I can do for you, please do not
hesitate to let me know.

Thank you and have a nice day,

Best regards,

Terence Liu (MSFT)

| Hi Terence,
|
| Many thanks for your assistance. To advise the steps taken.
|
| 1. Saved the server IP address as a static IP (192.168.1.5)
| 2. Ran through the CEICW as instructed below
| 3. Setup an internal VPN to the server using 192.168.1.5 which gives me
| access to the server
| 4. Have tried telnet to the vpn.xxxx.co.uk on ports 443 and 3389 neither
of
| which work.
|
| Again if I put the url vpn.xxxxx.co.uk it takes me straight to the router
| admin page.
|
| Kindest regards
