Re: SBS setup fails

Hi Tim,

Thanks for your updates.

I have performed further research about the intergrated setup wizard
disappear issue. This problem may due to that a conflict between the
Windows Small Business Server 2003 Setup program and the device driver for
the Intel 82801ER SATA RAID controller. Motherboards that use the Intel
865G chipset or the Intel 875P chipset include this kind of SATA RAID
controller. I would like to suggest that you try the following:

1. Install version 5.1 or later of the Intel Matrix Storage Manager before
you run the Setup program for Small Business Server. To download the latest
version of of the Intel Matrix Storage Manager

software, visit the following Intel Web site:

http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/imsm

2. Convert the volume that contains the Sysvol folder from a basic disk to
a dynamic disk.

Note: By default, the Sysvol folder is located in the Windows folder.

To convert a volume from a basic disk to a dynamic disk, follow these steps:

a. Click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Computer
Management.
b. In Computer Management, click Disk Management.
c. In the right pane, right-click the Disk number box, and then click
Convert to Dynamic Disk.

Note: The Disk number box is located in the lower pane of the Disk
Management window, The Disk number box includes text that is similar to the
following:

Disk 0
Basic
100 GB
Online

By the way, the log you have post in previous reply may not enough to
identify the root cause. If possible, please help to send me the logs as I
mentioned for further analysis.

| The integrated setup wizard disappears at 1c. below I don't even get to

| The only thing I can think of doing is to perform an "upgrade in
