I'm guessing that someone other than the same company that sets up the security should test the security :-)

It's like programming, or writing a proposal. It's hard to see what's right under your nose when you put it there.

There have got to be a bunch of scanning apps to do that. Are they asking for someone other than you to do it?

You are the only person I remember claiming to have been through SOX audits.
Do you no longer trust the person or company that did those audits?

I worked for a company back in 1999 that did security audits and they are
still around (in Orange County, California).

Alvaka Networks is the company at www.alvaka.net.

The company requires an external Firewall audit and the company that
their parent company was using is no longer in business, so the client
and their parent company, which owns 30 companies, needs a new firewall
audit company.

If they were still in business we would use them, but, to be honest, the
firewall audit is a little stupid, a simple port scan is all they
require and after the first X ports are scanned the firewall blocks all
further attempts :-)

I'll look alvaka up and see if they can do it.
