Hi Les,
Thank you for your reply.
1. For the warning message, if is not very important. That means your SBS
external NIC get IP from DHCP. Since you have a router before SBS, we can
also set the SBS external NIC as static IP, and disable DHCP on your router.
2. We can run the CEICW as following if you want to enable UPnP on the
router:
Two network adapters - UPnP router connection to broadband
a. Before you run the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard,
make sure that the network connection to the router is enabled, that the
cables are connected, and that the router is turned on.
b. A message that reports that the UPnP router was detected appears. If
the message does not appear or if you want to configure the router
manually, go to the " Two network adapters - manual router connection to
broadband " section.
c. On the Do you want the wizard to configure the router? page, click Yes.
d. On the Router Connection page, the values will be populated by the UPnP
router. Type different values if the values that you want are different.
e. Click to clear the My server uses a single network connection for both
Internet access and the local network check box, and then click Next.
f. On the Network Connection, You must enable and configure the network
connection to your ISP page, under Connection Name, click Network
Connection.
g. Click Obtain an IP address automatically (use DHCP), and then click
Next.
h. On the Network Connection, You must click the connection for your ISP
and local network page, click Network Connection under ISP network
connection.
i. Under Local network connection, click Server Local Area Connection, and
then click Next.
j. Complete the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard.
3. You mentioned you installed the ISA server on SBS, but from your MPS
report, I could not find any service about ISA server. How do you install
the ISA server? Do you install the ISA server from SBS 2003 permission
disk? What's version of your ISA server?
4. Can you telnet vpn.XXX.co.uk 443 or 3389 port from Internet?
5. Test the VPN connection from inside of the SBS network, will the problem
be reproduced?
Note: This test will bypass the DSL router.
Manually create a VPN connection on the internal client through the
following KB article:
How to configure a VPN connection to your corporate network in Windows XP
Professional
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=305550
Note: The VPN server IP is the internal IP address of the SBS Server
6. What error do you get when you try to connect VPN? Please capture
screenshots on the error messages and send the pictures to me at
v-terliu@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
I appreciate your time and look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks and have a nice day!
Best regards,
Terence Liu (MSFT)

| Hi Terence,
|
| Still struggling with this issue, I have taken all the steps you have
| suggested but with no luck.
|
| I have setup port forwarding to the specific ports as suggested, even
| allowing for CEICW using PnP to configure relvant ports.
|
| One thing I have picked up is when I get part way through I get this
warning
| box: ( copy email sent direct, as can't post image here.
|
| Finally, My remote access was working prior to installing ISA, is it
| possible to un-install ISA and see if this resolves my problems?
|
| Kindest regards
|
|
